free 22. marec 2004 Avtor Prijavi Deli 22. marec 2004 please, can somebody tell me when to use THE ?or: does anybody could tell me, when to use THE ?Use THE whenever you are talking about a specific item/person/... If you say for example "I picked a flower for my mother" you don't have to add anything. It's a legitimate sentence. But if you say "I picked the flower for my mother" you need to explain exactly which flower you mean. You can say for instance "I picked the flower that was growing by the tree for my mother." If you use THE you have to be more specific. Otherwise people wont understand what you're trying to tell them. And another thing: "please, can somebody tell me when to use THE ?" is OK."does anybody could tell me, when to use THE ?" is not OK. Try "could anybody tell me..." or "can anybody tell me..." Great, you gave me a suitable explanation! thanks! Volk K.L. 25. marec 2004 Prijavi Deli 25. marec 2004 volk k.l.hm, is your job interesting to you?Well sometimes is very boring. That means the network is fine, there's no problem. Sounds strange but I like the network failures or switch failures. At that time, we are using all our knowledges to solve and fix the problem. Of course there's no place for individual characters, because of team work. The only bad thing in my job is working night shifts during saturdays, sundays or celebration days. Sometimes I must work during the OFF days, because of upgrading the last version of SW and HW, or special backups to protect the system, or really bad failures etc...Job itself is interesting for me, because technology is so alive. It acts like a life form. A lot of people said that with AI the world will be like in Terminator movies. Nobody knows that AI is right know at their home. Mobile, ADSL, ISDN, CATV technology is very close to AI technology. We could say that telecommunication of the present and future time is very clever technology and of course very alive, something like Skynet in the Terminator movie. So,would you like to live in an english speaking sorrunding? have a nice day!Hi,a really interesting link! I haven't taken time to listen to all the tape yet. In fact, I'm not very excited about listening to tape-recorded voices; I'm much more a visual type of a person, and I prefer watching (or reading) to just listening. Anyway, listening (and talking) to a native speaker in person is an all together different experience. I'm currently lucky enough to earn just as much as I need. Sometimes I think that more money means more trouble so I'm quite satisfied with what I have. Of course it's great dreaming about having loads of money and indulge in things we now can't imagine. :$$: But being rich and having a lot of money are two different things. I think that someone who is pleased with his/her life is richer than someone who has money but is not happy. I think living in an English speaking would be an interesting experience to try. Enjoy! By the way, you used heave/heaving a couple of times instead of have/having. According to my electronic dictionary, heave has quite a few meanings, all different from what you meant:1. Utter a sound, as with obvious effort2. Throw with great effort3. Rise and move, as in waves or billows4. Lift or elevate5. Nautical: to move or cause to move in a specified way, direction, or position6. Breathe noisily, as when one is exhausted7. Bend out of shape, as under pressure or from heat8. Make an unsuccessful effort to vomit; strain to vomit 'velika noč' is Easter (you were close enough ) Cheers Citiraj ポローナ Pikapolonica (my blog) Link to comment Deli na socialnih omrežjih Več možnosti deljenja...
